SEMSYS AT NeSy 2024

This September, Majlinda Llugiqi attended the 18th International Conference on Neural-Symbolic Learning and Reasoning in beautiful Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Her paper, Enhancing Machine Learning Predictions through Knowledge Graph Embeddings, co-authored with Fajar J. Ekaputra and Marta Sabou, was honored with a spotlight talk —a recognition reserved for work of high quality and relevance to the neuro-symbolic community. Majlinda had the privilege of presenting her research, which led engaging discussions on how knowledge graphs can be used to enhance the predictive capabilities of machine learning models.

The conference brought together leading experts from academia and industry to discuss groundbreaking advancements at the intersection of neural and symbolic AI. Key topics included knowledge representation and reasoning with deep neural networks, symbolic knowledge extraction from statistical learning systems, and explainable AI. The event featured inspiring keynote talks by Catia Pesquita, Kristian Kersting, and Willem Zuidema, alongside spotlight presentations, posters, and engaging discussions that highlighted the potential of neuro-symbolic systems in advancing AI research.
