Foundational and applied research in the area of information systems enabled by Semantic (Web) technology
Dr. Marta Sabou (F), is an FWF Elise Richter Fellow focusing on research at the intersection of Semantic Web technologies and Human Computation and Crowdsourcing. She is an accomplished academic (over 100 peer-reviewed papers, h-index=45) and has an extensive project work and management experience.
Dr. Fajar J. Ekaputra (M) is a postdoctoral researcher with a PhD on the topic of Semantic Web Technologies for data integration and knowledge change management. He has a vast research project experience on the topic of Semantic Web and its application in several domains, including Industrie 4.0, Smart Cities, and Personal Data management.
Peb R. Aryan (M) is a PhD student researching Knowledge Graph processing and access mechanisms, including Question-answering systems. He has extensive technical skills and experience with data processing and Knowledge Graphs, and has been involved in several research prototype developments.
Laura Waltersdorfer (F) is a PhD student researching Auditable Semantic AI Systems in the medical science and environmental context. She has gained research experience in information systems and data integration approaches in industrial informatics, including quality assurance and process analysis.
Kevin Haller (M) is a master student of the study ‚Software Engineering and Internet Computing‘ andhas worked on a number of projects, mostly related to managing and analyzing Knowledge Graphs. Lately, his main focus is on investigating how toenable exploratory search on Knowledge Graphs. He is generally skilled in modern software engineering andhas experience with Semantic Web technologies as well as graph databases.
Stefani Tsaneva (F) recently graduated from the master's program Business Informatics and has now joined the team as a research assistant. She has experience in the areas of Human Computation and Ontology Evaluation. In her master thesis, she investigated human-centric Ontology Evaluation tasks that can’t be yet solved using AI algorithms and how Human Computation and Crowdsourcing techniques can be applied for solving them.
Majlinda Llugiqi (F) studied Logic and Computation Master’s Program at the Technical University of Vienna. In her master thesis, she worked on improving learned decision trees with knowledge in domain ontologies. She now joined the team as a Project Staff Member.
Gregor Käfer (M) is a Software Engineering Student (TU Wien) currently finalising his bachelor studies. He supports SemSys as a part-time project assistant in OBARIS.
Ayu Irsyam, B.Sc (F), held a Bachelor's degree in microbiology and had recently obtained a Zertifierter Fachfrau Buchhaltung qualification. She speaks both German and English, with work experience in marketing communications and accounting. In her current role, she will support the Semantic Systems lab with project administration tasks and data management.
