AI in Action: and what does it mean for women?
On 14.06, Marta Sabou represented the SemSys group and WU at the largest conference for women in new technologies in Europe hosted in Warsaw: The Perspektywy Women in Tech 2023.
Within the conference, she participated in a panel entitled “AI in Action: How artificial intelligence is transforming our daily lives” which was co-organised by the Austrian Cultural Forum in Warsaw. The other panelists included:
- Prof. Maria Klawe, rector of Harvey Mudd College (United States)
- Klaudia Krawiecka Ph.D., researcher, f. president Oxford Women in Computer Science (OxWoCS),
- Prof. Tamilla Triantoro, Quinnipiac University (United States)
- Prof. Ivona Brandic, Technische Universität Wien (Austria)
The panel explored the advances as well as the ethical risks of AI and what these meant for education and enticing more women towards STEM education.
The panel was followed by 17 presentations by Polish researchers from academia and industry showcasing an amazing breadth of topics where AI is used.
