Future Museum

Future Museum is a MUSEUM BOOSTER research project with international research partners, that aims at helping museums apply cutting-edge know-how in their strategic planning. The Future Museum community brings together museum and cultural leaders, public authorities, innovators, and suppliers in the exchange of ideas, experiences, and benchmarks. The research project was launched in 2019 and continues until today.

As part of the FutureMuseum project, WU is responsible for the following research question: “Which types of data should museums collect and how can it best be used for a specific objective?”. To that end, WU supports museums in their endeavor to identify the key data sources that they possess (or which they should acquire) and make a visual inventory of these data sets through Data Maps. WU will guide and support one specific case of FutureMuseum partners.
