Semsys at the 3rd Amsterdam / Saint-Etienne Workshop on Social Choice
At the beginning of this April, Hanna Kern and Felicia Schmidt attended the 3rd Amsterdam/Saint-Etienne Workshop on Social Choice in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Along with attending many interesting keynote talks, both Hanna and Felicia took part in the poster session with their respective works in progress.
Hanna presented her work in progress with Martin Lackner, Jan Maly and Erel Segal-Halevi on Semi-Discrete Participatory Budgeting. She introduced this new participatory budgeting setting, including novel voting rules and an initial axiomatic analysis of the voting rules.

Felicia presented her work in progress with Bailey Flanigan, Jan Maly and Oliviero Nardi on Cost Bias in Participatory Budgeting. This includes the new notion of equal-worthiness cost-monotonicity, and theoretical and experimental work on this topic.
