Jan Maly’s Paper on Fair Participant Selection for Citizens’ Assemblies Accepted to AAAI
We’re excited to share that the paper City Sampling for Citizens’ Assemblies, co-authored by Jan Maly alongside Paul Gölz, Ulrike Schmidt-Kraepelin, Markus Utke, and Philipp C. Verpoort, has been accepted to AAAI. The work tackles a timely challenge: how to design sampling methods that fairly and efficiently select participants for citizens’ assemblies, an increasingly important tool for democratic decision-making.
This acceptance highlights the growing academic interest in computational approaches to civic participation and showcases the team’s contribution to bridging algorithmic research and real-world democratic processes.
